• What is a CMS?

  An acronym for Content Management System. It's a secure back office where you can log in and make changes to the content of your own website without needing to know code. Change page headings, write a new blog post, swap out a picture etc. Technically speaking Facebook, Instagram are a type of CMS.

• What is maintance & is it necessary?

  Backend systems (CMS) regularly release updates to improve speed, reliability, add bug fixes and security patches. While not mandatory it is highly advised.

• Is maintenance included?

  Depending on the level of maintenance you require, monitoring and updates are applied at various intervals (weekly, monthly or bi-annually).

• Do you supply content like written text, photos, or video?

  I can provide SEO friendly written content / copywriting services in addition to the build fee. I don't provide photography or videography directly but can put you in touch with several trusted partners who provide these services. Alternatively we can use stock from media libraries.

• Do you only build websites for literary agencies and hotels?

  Absolutely not. Although I have vast experience in these areas I've also worked with architects, interior designers, landscape designers, financial planners, property management, e-commerce stores and many more.

• Do you work with Wordpress?

  In the past yes, however I've come to realise it's not a good fit for most cases. In my opinion there is a better CMS which I now use almost exclusively called CraftCMS. It's great! Read more about my reasoning here.

• Do you use pre-built themes?

  No. I consider your business to be unique to all others. As such I design and build every web page entirely from scratch. The final result is 100% your own and will not look like any others.

• What if we need something extra once our website is live?

  I'm happy to make amendments to your website after go-live. These are charged at my hourly rate.

• Is your hosting secure?

  It sure is! Each account is ring-fenced to ensure any resource-heavy neighbouring account does not impact your website's performance or security (unlike with low-cost shared hosting options). SSL certificates are included and renewed at no extra cost.

• Can you help me with getting a domain?

  No problem. Domains can be tricky, especially if you're not well-versed in DNS. I can help with all domain related tasks from purchasing, renewals, setup, routing and management.

• Can you design our company logo?

  Sure. Before becoming a web developer I was a graphic designer so you're getting the best of both.
